Miss Understood

She’s seemingly always laughing. She always has a joke to tell. Something to make people smile. They say she’s funny,  and she’s weird,  but she loves it. She isn’t called the lonely depressed kid anymore, and that’s enough for her.

She has a response to everything. She rarely runs out of comebacks. Her hand is always raised in class. They call her a nerd. They say it like it’s a bad thing. She pretends not to care.

She is as graceful as she is clumsy,  and as obnoxious as she is classy. She is everyone she loves, and yet a person of her own.

She’s seemingly always laughing. She doesn’t want attention. She needs a distraction.
